Henry Hart 
Henry was born about 1821 in , Hardin , Kentucky, USA.1 Henry's father was Iredell Hart and his mother is Amelia Hart. His paternal grandparents were Aaron Hart and Mary King. He had five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Eliza, Clarinda, Catharine, Jane, Amelia Emily and Conely. He was the oldest of the seven children. "...Iredell HART was born in Union County, S. C. about 1796, a son of Aaron HART and Mary KING. About 1802, his family moved to Tennessee, where they lived until coming to White Mills about 1809.
Iredell spent his early years in Hardin County, where he spent many hours studying law books. He was representing clients in Hardin County as early as 1817, when he served as attorney for his Uncle Moses HART and Jasper TERRY in a land dispute. Hardin County records show he obtained attorney status in 1822.
On 20 Dec 1820, Iredell married Amelia T. HART in Hardin County. Daniel LINDER gave consent as Amelia's stepfather. It is doubtful stepfather had the same meaning as today, for there is no evidence Daniel LINDER ever remarried or married a HART.
About 1822 Iredell and Amelia moved to the Leitchfield area of Grayson County, thus becoming one of the earlier lawyers of the county. Iredell was active in politics and represented Grayson County in the Kentucky Legislature in 1826. While practicing law in leitchfield, Iredell and Amelia had two children, Henry and Eliza.
About 1830 opportunities arose in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Ky., and the family moved to that area. Iredell continued his law practice and interest in politics, representing Hopkins County in the Kentucky Legislature in 1834.
He also served as a Kentucky Elector in 1841 for the Benjamin HARRISON election. Prior to his death in 1843, four more children were born in Hopkins County - Clasinda, Katherine, Jane and Amelia Emily.
Iredell's place of burial has not been identified, but there is strong family suspicion his father, Aaron, had his body returned to the Hart-Reynolds Cemetery outside White Mills. Family ties lured Iredell's son, Henry, back to Grayson County, where he bought land in 1850, settling amoung numerous HART relatives around Big Clifty.
Henry married Nancy Ann ARMOUR, daughter of Dempsey ARMOUR (1794 - 1871_ and Rutha Jane GOFORTH (1809 - 1872), 17 Aug 1852. The Rev. James L. FULLILOVE married them at his store near White Mills.
Henry and Nancy remained in Big Clifty, where they had five children: Elizabeth Ann (1853 - 1915); William Stinson (1854 - ?); Melvina (1857 - 1902); Richard Henry (1859 - 1935); and Joseph Hooker (1863 - 1930).
About 1864-65 Henry, Nancy and the Dempsey ARMOUR family moved to Mountgomery County, Illinois. It was here that sons Samuel Frank (1868 - 1886) and Lindsay (1873 - 1893) were born. henry and Nancy spent their remaining years in Thomasville, Montgomery, Illinois.
Henry died at home 6 Aug 1912, and Nancy died 14 Mar 1915. Both are buried in Virden, Illinois near Dempsey and Rutha Jane ARMOUR. - Larry R. HART
