Richard FITZALAN 
Richard was born in 1346 in Arundel, Sussex. Richard's father was Richard "Copped Hat" FITZALAN and his mother was Eleanor PLANTAGENET. His paternal grandparents were Edmund FITZALAN and Alice DE WARREN; his maternal grandparents were Henry PLANTAGENET and Maud DE CHAWORTH. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, John Fitz, Thomas, Joan, Alice Fitz and Alice. He had three half-brothers named Edmund (Sir) Fitz, Henry* Lord and Henry. He died at the age of 51 on September 21st, 1397 in London (Beheaded).General Notes

One of the chief opponents of Richard II.
He began as a member of the royal council during the minori
ty of Richard II and about 1381 was made one of the young k
ing's governors. About 1385 he joined the baronial party le
d by the King's uncle, Thomas of Woodstock, duke of Glouces
ter, and in 1386 was a member of the commission appointed t
o regulate the kingdom and the royal household. As admira
l of the west and south he gained a victory over the Frenc
h and their allies off Margate in 1387.
Then came the King's futile attempt to arrest Arundel, whic
h was the signal for the outbreak of hostilities. The Glouc
ester faction quickly gained the upper hand, and Arundel wa
s again a member of the royal council. After a personal alt
ercation with the King at Westminster in 1394, Arundel unde
rwent a short imprisonment. In 1397 he was involved in a co
nspiracy against Richard II and was beheaded on Tower Hill.

Elizabeth FITZALAN
Elizabeth was born in 1366 in Arundel, Sussex. She died at the age of 59 on July 8th, 1425 in Heveringham, Nottingham.
Thomas FITZALAN
Thomas was born on October 13th, 1381. He died at the age of 34 on October 13th, 1415. He was buried in Collegiate Church, Arundel.
Richard and Philippa were married in a religious ceremony in 1390.
