Thomas FITZALAN 
Thomas was born on October 13th, 1381. Thomas' father was Richard FITZALAN and his mother was Elizabeth DE BOHUN. His paternal grandparents were Richard "Copped Hat" FITZALAN and Eleanor PLANTAGENET; his maternal grandparents were William DE BOHUN and Elizabeth DE BADLESMERE. He had a brother and four sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth, Joan, Alice and Margaret. He died at the age of 34 on October 13th, 1415. He was buried in Collegiate Church, Arundel.General Notes

Only surviving son of Richard Fitzalan, the 11th earl, an
d a champion of Henry IV and Henry V of England.
King Richard II made him a ward of John Holland, duke of Ex
eter, from whose keeping he escaped about 1398 and joined h
is uncle, Archbishop Thomas Arundel, at Utrecht, returnin
g to England in 1399 with Henry of Lancaster, afterward Kin
g Henry IV. In October 1400 he was restored to his father'
s titles and estates. Arundel joined the party of the Beauf
orts and was one of the leaders of the English army that we
nt to France in 1411; then after a period of retirement h
e became lord treasurer on the accession of Henry V and wa
s at the taking of Harfleur in 1415.
His wife was Beatrice (d. 1439), a natural daughter of Joh
n I, king of Portugal, but they left no children, and the l
ordship of Arundel passed to his second cousin, John.
