Richard DE BEAUCHAMP 
Richard was born in Warwick Castle. Richard's father was William DE BEAUCHAMP and his mother was Joan FITZALAN. His paternal grandparents were Thomas DE BEAUCHAMP and Catherine DE MORTIMER; his maternal grandparents were Richard FITZALAN and Elizabeth DE BOHUN. He had two sisters named Joan and Elizabeth. He died on April 30th, 1439 in Rouen, France. He was buried on October 4th, 1439 in St. Mary's, Warwick.General Notes

V. In 1408 he set out for the Holy Land, visiting monarch
s and fighting in a tournament en route and making a simila
rly active return trip through Russia, Poland and Germany
. After his return (1410) Beauchamp executed several roya
l missions, including that as chief English envoy to the Co
uncil of Constance (1414), and he fought with notable succe
ss in France. For capturing Aumale, Normandy, he was made D
uke of Aumale. From 1429 he served as tutor and guardian t
o the young Henry VI until he was made (1437) lieutenant o
f France and Normandy, a position he held for the remainin
g two years of his life. Richard de Beauchamp was a man o
f piety and courtesy and was famed throughout Europe as a c
hivalric knight. His daughter Anne married, and brought th
e Earldom of Warwick to, Richard Neville.

Elizabeth was born about September 1418 in Hanley Castle, Worcestershire. She died on June 18th, 1448. She was buried in Carmelite Priory, Coventry.
Richard and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in Monmouth. They had two daughters named Margaret and Eleanor.
