His paternal grandparents were Cornelius BROOKS and Miss HENDERSON; his maternal grandparents were Joshua HIGGINS and Mary QUICK. He had five brothers and four sisters, named David, Jeremiah, James, Joseph, Benjamin, Jane, Rebecca, Margaret and Mary. He had two half-brothers named John and Washington.
