Hendrikus was born on December 31st, 1710 in , Ulster, New York and his baptism took place on December 31st, 1710 in New Paltz, Ulster, New York. Hendrikus' father was Solomon DUBOISE and his mother was Tryntis Barensten FOCKEN. His paternal grandparents were Louis DUBOISE and Catherine BLANCHAN or BLANCON; his maternal grandparents were Gerrit Gerritsen FOCKEN and Jacomyntje (Jacomueyntie Barentsen) SLECHT. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Isaac, Benjamin, Cornelius, Jacomyntge, Catryn, Sarah, Catharine, Magdalena and Deborah. He was the youngest of the ten children.
