Princess of Kiev was born about 1099 in Kiev, Ukraine.  Princess of Kiev's father was Mstislas and her mother was Christina Ingesdatter.  Her paternal grandparents were Vladimir and Gytha Haroldsdatter; her maternal grandparents were Inge I Stenkilsson and Helena Torildsdatter Blot-Sven. She had five brothers and six sisters, named II, Vsevolod, Prince of Kiev, Duke of Novgorod, Rostislav I, Christina, Princess of Kiev, Queen of Norway and Denmark, Mariya Agafiya, Dobredeya "Irina" and Rogneda.  She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
