Sybille Matilda was born in 1065 in Bourgogne, France.  Sybille Matilda's father was Guillaume I "The Grand" and her mother was Etiennette Stephanie De Longwy.  Her paternal grandparents were I Renaud and Alice (Adelaide) of Normandy; her maternal grandparents were III Adalbert and Clemence De Foix. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Etienne I, Guillaume II, Eudes, Clemence, Pope Calistus, Archbishop of Besancon, Ermentrude, Bertha, Raimund, Etiennette and Gisela.  She died about 1103.
