Richard de Clare 
Richard was born in 1186 in London, Middlesex, England. Richard's father was Richard de Clare VI Earl of Hertford and his mother was Amice FitzRobert Countess. His paternal grandparents were Roger de Clare Earl of Gloucester and Countess Maud de St. Hilary de Harcourt; his maternal grandparents were William FitzRobert Earl of Gloucester and Hawise de Beaumont. He had a brother and three sisters, named Gilbert, Aveline, Maud and Joan. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 42 on March 4th, 1228.-
