St. David I was born about 1080 in Scotland.  St. David I's father was Malcolm III "Canmore" , King of Albany and his mother was Margaret "the Saint" of England.  His paternal grandparents were Duncan I MacCrinan , King of Albany and Sibyl fitz Seward; his maternal grandparents were Edward "Aethling" , Prince of England and Agatha of West Friesland. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Alexander I, Edgar, Edith Matilda "Atheling" and Mary. He had a half-brother named Duncan II.  He died on May 24th, 1153 in Carlisle,Scotland.
