His paternal grandparents were King Henry I England and Sibilla Corbet; his maternal grandparents were Robert Fitzhammon Lord of Corboil and Sibyl De Montgomery. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Hamon, William Of Gloucester, Philip Fitzrobert De, Robert, Mabira de, Mabel, Maud Fitzrobert De and Juliana. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had four half-brothers named Roger, Richard, Hamon and Philip Fitzrobert. He died on August 9th, 1179 in Tours, France. He was buried in Tours, Indre-Et-Loire, France.-
