Robert, known as 'Bossu', was born about 1104 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  'Bossu''s father was Earl Robert Beaumont , Earl of Leicester and his mother was Isabel (Elizabeth) Of Vermandois De Crepi Countess of Leicester.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont , Seigneur de Pont-Audemer and Adeline de Meulan; his maternal grandmother was Adelle (Adelaide) Vermandois. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Waleran De, Hugh De, Auberie De, Miss De, Havoise De, Amicade De, Adeline De, Maude De, Isabel (Elizabeth) De and Agnes De. He had seven half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Waleran, Robert II, Robert II, Robert II de, William, Reginald De, Ralph (Warren) De, Isabel, Elizabeth (Isabel), Maud\Matilda\Alberade, Maud\Matilda\Alberade, Adeline, Isabel Elizabeth de, Gundred De, Ada De and Adelian De.  He died on April 5th, 1168 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  He was buried in Leicester Abbey, Leicester, Leicestershire, England.


'Bossu''s family with Amice De Gael

‌'Bossu' and Amice were married in a religious ceremony after November 1120 in Brittany, France.  They had seven sons and five daughters, named Roger De, Gervace De, William De, John De, Geoffrey De, Henry De, Robert III De, Hawise De, Eleanor De, Isabel De, Lade (Elizabeth) De and Margaret De.
