Joan was born in 1380 in of Upholland,Lancashire,England.1 Joan's father was Thomas II d'Holland and her mother was Alice FitzAlan. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas I d'Holland and Joan Princess of England; her maternal grandparents were Richard "Copped Hat" Fitzalan and Eleanor Plantagenet. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas III, Edmund, Eleanor, Margaret (of Kent), Margaret and Elizabeth. She died at the age of 54 on April 12th, 1434 in s. p..2 General Notes
