Roger was born about 1242 in Ashby,Magna,Leicestershire,England. Roger's father was Alan la Zouche and his mother was Elena de Quincy. His paternal grandparents were Roger la Zouche and Ela Longespee; his maternal grandparents were Roger , 2nd Earl Of Winchester de Quincy and Helen (Elena) de Galloway. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Eon Or Eudo, Eudo, William, Alan, Oliver, Henry, Helene Rohan-Porhoet, Margaret Mary and Maud. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He had four half-sisters named Ellen, Eleanor, Maud and Elizabeth. He died before October 15th, 1285 in Ashby,Magna,Leicestershire,England.
