Eleanor De was born in 1208 in Courtenay,Rheims,France.  Eleanor De's father was Pierre II De Courtenay and her mother was Yolanda, Condesa de Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Pierre I Capet de France and Elizabeth De Courtenay; her maternal grandparents were Baudouin VIII Compte De Flanders y Hainault and Margaret , of Alsace de Lorraine. She had five brothers and nine sisters, named Philippe De, Pierre De, Robert De, Henri De, Baudoin De, Marguerite De, Marguerite (Sibylle), Sibylle De, Yolanda de, Yolande De, Agnes De, Elizabeth De, Marie De and Constance De.  She was the third youngest of the fifteen children. She had a half-sister named Maud De.  She died at the age of 22 in 1230 in l'Abbaye De S. Antoine Des Champs,Paris,Seine-et-Marne,France.
