‌James and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony in 1777 in Duplin County, North Carolina.¹   They had eight sons and four daughters, named Lewis, James, Jr., William, John, Thomas, Stephen, Isaac, Bryan, daughter, daughter, daughter and daughter.
