Living's father was Gillis Lloyd Spradley and his mother was Anna Belle Lucile Stewart. His paternal grandparents were John Ernest Spradley and Lula Florence Ponton; his maternal grandparents were James Robert Stewart and Mary Lucille Darden. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Living, Living, Living, Linda Ann, Living, Living, Living and Living.-
