Monroe Clinton was born on August 13th, 1835 in Haywood Co., TN.1 Monroe Clinton's father was John Hardy Cobb and his mother was Harriet W. Castellaw. His paternal grandparents were John Cobb and Sarah Capehart; his maternal grandparents were John Dawson Castellaw and Zilpha Spruill. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Samuel Alexander, Leonard Decatur, John Charles Warren, William Thomas, Simon Amherst, Robert Davis, Sarah Frances, Zilphia, Mourning Adeline and Harriet Ann Justina. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 3 on November 26th, 1838 in Haywood Co., TN.1 -
