Benedict de Clare 
Benedict was born in 1254 in Tonebridge, Suffolk, England. Benedict's father was Richard de Clare Earl of Gloucester & Hertford and his mother was Maude de Lacy Cts de Lincoln. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare Earl of Gloucester & Hertford and Isabella Marshal; his maternal grandparents were John de Lacy Earl of Lincoln and Margaret de Quincy. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Sir Gilbert the Red de, Bogo, Sir Thomas de Clare, Isabel, Margaret, Rohese (Agnes) and Eglentiria. He died at the age of 41 in 1295.-
