Joan was born in 1374 in Chateau De Beaufort, Maine-Et-Loire, France.  Joan's father was John Plantagenet of Gaunt , Duke of Lancaster and her mother was Catherine Swynford Roet.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward III King of England and Philippa of Hainault; her maternal grandfather was Sir Payne Roet. She had three brothers named John de Beaufort 1st Earl of, Henry and Thomas de Beaufort Duke of.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Henry Plantagenet IV King of, John, Edward, John Plantagenet, Thomas, Phillipa, Isabel, Elizabeth, Catherine and Blanche.  She died at the age of 66 on November 12th, 1440 in Howden, Yorkshire, England.


Joan's first family with Ralph De Neville I Earl of Westmoreland

‌Joan and Ralph De Neville I Earl of were married in a religious ceremony on November 29th, 1396 in Chateau De Beaufort, Maine-Et-Loire, France.  They had three sons and four daughters, named Richard De Neville Earl of, William De Neville Earl of, Edward De Neville Lord, Eleanor, Anne, Catherine and Cecily.


Joan's second family with Robert De Ferrers Baron Ferrers Of Wemm

They had two daughters named Mary and Elizabeth.
