Her paternal grandparents were George Sipes and Lou Reynolds; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Deckard and Mary Polly Ann Kinser. She had seven brothers named Glenford, Chester H., Jasper, Winford Cotton, Roy, Floyd and Warren.-
