Age of deceased:  47   Nationality: American   Date of Death and Burial: 
April 26, 1864.
He was 5' 9" high, dark complexion, grey eyes, dark hair; occupation
farmer. He joined the company at its organization at Columbus, Indiana. 
Was muster in at Indianapolis, Indiana on the 10 day of March 1864 for a
term of three years.   Exert (MIlitary Records): William Edds was last
paid by Paymaster the 25th day of March 1864 and his pay due him from
that time to present.  He has received from the United States clothing
amounting to $35.18 since the 24 day of February 1864 when his clothing
account was last settled.  He received from the United States $62.00
advanced bounty and premium.

William Edds Estate - First day Term 12, 1865 Common Pleas. Nancy
Edes, Administratux of the estate of William Edes, deceased; and makes
and files her report which is in the following words and figures to wit.
The state of Indiana Deckember Term 1865 Monroe County.
Nancy Edes Administiatrix of the estate of William Edes deceased,
reports to the Court of Common Pleas the following settlement account.  
I am chargeable as per Inventory $764.30
I am chargeable with exers of sale of property over appointment $22.49  
Total Liability  $786.79
I claim credit for the following services. Paid out as per vouchers filed
filed herwith.

And there is a ballance of $450.68 to be distributed amongest the widow
and 9 heirs, which would leave the widow $150.28 1/2 cents, and the
remaining heirs thirty-three dollars and 37 1/4 cents. I have paid off
John Deckard and Milisa Deckard, his wife, formerly Melisa Edes.
Thirty-three dollars and 37 1/4. I have paid Louisa Edes who is of the
age majority. $33.37 1/4 the distributive share of her estate. I am the
Guardian of David, Margaret, Peter, Jane, Mary Elizabeth, and Eli Edes
who are minors under the age of 21 years. Henry Edes is of lawful age and
is in the Service of the United States which sum I now pay into Court for
said Henry Edes as per receipt here marked A. All of which contains a
full Statement of All the estate that has come to my hands, with the
credits to which I am entitled.
I have fully paid all debts that has come to my knowledge, and have
fully adminestered said estate, and have paid to said heirs, and then
lawful gaurdian their distrubution share of said estate and ask to be
discharged from further duties liabilities and trust as such

Following information was written by Sonja Eads Cookson for the Monroe
County History Book.....Isham's son William (my great-great-grandfather)
married a neighbor girl named Nancy Miller May 28, 1839, and on Sept 19,
of that same year obtained a land grant in Polk Township of
