Odis Dowling 
Odis was born on May 8th, 1888 in Lawrence County, Indiana. Odis' father was Jesse Dowling and his mother was Nancy Malinda Zike. His paternal grandparents were James Dowling and Ann Reynolds; his maternal grandparents were Andrew J. Zike and Martha L. Moore. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William Franklin, John Arthur, Martha Ann, Mary Alice, Ethel Nola, Ruby M. and Stella Esther. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 60 on March 31st, 1949 in Lawrence County, Indiana. He was buried in Ikerd Cemetery, East of Bedford, Lawrence, Indiana.-
