Absalom Benton Whitaker 
Absalom Benton was born on September 6th, 1787 in , , NC. Absalom Benton's father was John Whitaker and his mother was Christian Benton. His paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Cary; his maternal grandfather was Absalom Benton. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Eli Benton, James, Richard, John, Cary, Wilson Cary, Elizabeth, Martha and Margaret Green. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 57 on November 25th, 1844.-
