James Whaley 
James was born in 1811 in , Bourbon, Kentucky. James' father was Leland Whaley and his mother was Mary Or Polly Talbott. His paternal grandparents were James Whaley and Barbara Ramey; his maternal grandparents were Henry Talbott and Barbara Whaley. He had a brother and three sisters, named William B., Harriet, Evelina and Angeline. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Charles H., Benjamin F., Lee W., Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth.-
