Mary Or Polly was born in 1787 in , , Virginia. Mary Or Polly's father was Henry Talbott and her mother was Barbara Whaley. Her maternal grandparents were James Whaley and Lydia Ann Ramey. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Joshua, Osbourn, Levin, Augustine, Daniel, Reason, George, Charles, Henry, Hannah, Nancy and Katherine. She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 31 on May 18th, 1818 in , Bourbon, Kentucky.-
