Henry Sowards 
Henry was born on July 29th, 1857 in Worth County, Missouri. Henry's father was Henry Sowards and his mother was Matilda Brumfield. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Sowards and Rosannah Spears; his maternal grandparents were John Brumfield and Mary Plaster. He had nine brothers and five sisters, named John, James, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Albert, Isaac Anderson, Franklin, Amon, Griffin, Joseph, Eliza Jane, Mary Ann, Mahala, Martha and Anna. He was the fourth oldest of the fifteen children.-
