Wiley Shanks 
Wiley was born in 1844 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Wiley's father was George Shanks and his mother was Lucy. His paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Catherine, Mary, Minerva and Rachel. He was the second oldest of the seven children.
