Marmaduke Semmes 
Marmaduke was born on May 23rd, 1741 in Charles County, Maryland. Marmaduke's father was Francis Semmes and his mother was Lucretia Chapman. His paternal grandparents were Marmaduke Semmes and Elizabeth Clarkson; his maternal grandparents were William Chapman and Jane. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Ignatius M., Francis, Williamson, Elizabeth, Jane, Chloe, Ann and Eleanor. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 33 in 1774.-
