Francis Semmes 
Francis was born about 1711 in , Charles, Maryland. Francis' father was Marmaduke Semmes and his mother was Elizabeth Clarkson. His paternal grandparents were Marmaduke Semmes and Fortune Watson; his maternal grandparents were William Clarkson and Ruth Rozer. He had three sisters named Ruth, Eleanor and Elizabeth.
