Jane Semmes 
Jane was born on June 28th, 1736 in Charles County, Maryland. Jane's father was Francis Semmes and her mother was Lucretia Chapman. Her paternal grandparents were Marmaduke Semmes and Elizabeth Clarkson; her maternal grandparents were William Chapman and Jane. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Marmaduke, Ignatius M., Francis, Williamson, Elizabeth, Chloe, Ann and Eleanor. She was the second oldest of the ten children.-
