Louisa was born about 1822 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Louisa's father was Henry Pearson and her mother was Mary Or Polly Cole. Her paternal grandparents were Christian Pearson and Catherine. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Christopher, John M., Mitchell, Jefferson, Jackson, Stokely, Sarah, Maria, Elizabeth, Mary, Minerva and Nunila. She was the second oldest of the thirteen children.-
