Christopher was born in 1821 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Christopher's father was Henry Pearson and his mother was Mary Or Polly Cole. His paternal grandparents were Christian Pearson and Catherine. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named John M., Mitchell, Jefferson, Jackson, Stokely, Louisa, Sarah, Maria, Elizabeth, Mary, Minerva and Nunila. He was the oldest of the thirteen children.-
