Elliot McLain 
Elliot was born in 1827 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Elliot's father was John McLain and his mother was Elizabeth Starnes. His paternal grandparents were Thomas McLain and Elizabeth Doty; his maternal grandparents were Leonard Starnes and Barbara Bowman. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Leonard Mitchell, Thomas H., Shadrack D., John B., Nancy Ann, Ruth Jane and Mary Caroline. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died before 1880 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.-
