Hugh V was born in 1148 in Caister, Norfolk, England.1 Hugh V's father was Hugh IV de Gournay and his mother was Melisende de Coucy de Marle. His paternal grandparents were Gerard de Gournay Baron Gournay and Edith de Warenne; his maternal grandparents were Thomas de Coucy de Marle sn de Coucy and Melissende de Crecy. He was an only child. He died at the age of 66 on October 25th, 1214 in of Gournai, Normandy, France. He was buried in 1214 in Langley Abbey, Devon, England.1 2 -
