Idonea was born about 1303 in Clifford, Hertfordshire, England.1   Idonea's father was Robert de Clifford IV Baron Clifford-Appleby and her mother was Maud de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Clifford III Baron Clifford and Isabel de Vipont; her maternal grandparents were Thomas de Clare Lord Thomond and Juliane FitzMaurice FitzGerald. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert de Clifford II, Roger, Isabel and Margaret.  She died on August 24th, 1365 in England.1
