Elżbieta was born on November 25th, 1953 in Wellington and her baptism took place in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wellington, New Zealand conducted by the priest.1   Her godfather was/is Józef Mendruń and her godmother was/is Aniela Ciesielska.  Elżbieta's father was Mikołaj Polaczuk and her mother is Celina Polaczuk (Gawronek).  Her paternal grandparents were Józef Polaczuk and Anastazja Polaczuk (Proniewicz); her maternal grandparents were Michał Gawronek and Henryka Gawronek (Skrzypczyńska). She has six brothers and two sisters, named Stefan, Jan, Marek, Piotr, Edward, Krzysztof, Anna and Maria.  She is the third oldest of the nine children.

Elżbieta and Henryk were married in a religious ceremony.  They have a son and two daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Peter, Alicja, Juliet and Nicki.
