Maria was born on June 26th, 1956 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand and her baptism took place in St Bernadette's Catholic Church, Nae Nae, Lower Hutt, New Zealand conducted by the priest.1   Her godfather was/is Jan Wypych and her godmother was/is Danuta Gawronek.  Maria's father was Mikołaj Polaczuk and her mother is Celina Polaczuk (Gawronek).  Her paternal grandparents were Józef Polaczuk and Anastazja Polaczuk (Proniewicz); her maternal grandparents were Michał Gawronek and Henryka Gawronek (Skrzypczyńska). She has six brothers and two sisters, named Stefan, Jan, Marek, Piotr, Edward, Krzysztof, Anna and Elżbieta.  She is the fifth oldest of the nine children.



Maria's family

Maria and Michael were married in a religious ceremony by the priest.  They have a son and three daughters, named Albert, Rhian, Natalie and Vera.
