Ruperta was born in 1913 in Aruba.  Ruperta's father was Eustachius Flanegin and her mother was María Marcelina Vrolijk. She had nine brothers and seven sisters, named Juan, Lourens, Jan, Cajus, Domingo, Pedro, Ciriaco, Teolindo, Mario, Cecilia, Sarafina, Petrona, Christina, Clemance, Maria and Wilhelmina.  She was the fifth youngest of the seventeen children.  She died in 1913 in Aruba.
