Fredrik Andries Georg was born on May 2nd, 1807 in Swartland, Cape.  Fredrik Andries Georg's father was Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and his mother was Martha Basina Dorothea van de Kaap.  His paternal grandparents were Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and Hilletjie Giebelaar (van Blerk). He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Johannes Everhadus, Hendrik Everhadus, Marthinus Samuel, Bastiaan Pieter Everhadus, Alida Johanna, Louisa Carolina, Hester Petronella George, Carolina Hester, Orgina Johanna, Johanna Scheubelina, Keetjie Wilhelmina and Rosina Johanna Hendrina.  He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 29 on November 8th, 1836 in Graaff Reinet.
