James Laing

James was born in 1841 in Duffus, Elginshire. James' father was John Laing and his mother was Elspet Cobban. His paternal grandparents were John Laing and Margaret Junkin; his maternal grandparents were John (Ernest) Cobban and Elspeth Sandison. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Elspet and Margaret. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 72 in 1913 in Caradoc Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. He was buried in Cooks Cemetery.
