William was born on August 11th, 1832.  William's father was John Breckenridge and his mother was Mary Breakenridge.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Breckenridge and Elizabeth Ferguson; his maternal grandparents were John Breakenridge and Mary Langwill. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Andrew, John, William, Thomas, Thomas, Maryanne, Elizabeth, Jane, Isabella and Margaret.  He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 3 on April 7th, 1836.  He was buried in Kilkerran Cemetary.
