Pál's father was Pál Körtvélyesi and his mother was Anna Restás?.  His paternal grandparents were Albert Körtve and Terézia Vitko. He had five brothers and a sister, named Kálmán, József, Bertalan, Pál, Béla and Margit.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 1 on March 17th, 1890 in Uraj Gömör.¹
