Jonathan was born in 1875 in Holbeck, Yorkshire, UK.1   Jonathan's father was Jonathan REDSHAW and his mother was Eliza BENNETT.  His paternal grandfather was John REDSHAW and his paternal grandmother is Hannah DUNWELL; his maternal grandparents are William BENNETT and Sarah (UNKNOWN). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, Walter, John, William, Benjamin, Sarah and Hannah.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 41 in 1916 in Chorlton, Lancashire, UK.2
