Experience Litchfield

Experience was born in 1642 in Barnstable, MA.¹ Experience's father was Lawrence Litchfield and his mother was Judith Dennis. His paternal grandparents were Litchfield and Litchfield; his maternal grandparents were William Dennis and Jane Scarlett. He had a brother and three sisters, named Josiah, Remembrance, Remember and Dependence. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, and also a half-sibling of unknown gender, named Israel, Eleazer, Thankful and William. He died at the age of 31 on August 1st, 1673 in Scituate, MA.¹

  [EXPERIENCE LITCHFIELDS INVENTORY]
  An inventory of the Estate of Experience Litchfield late of Scituate Deceased about the begin ning of August 1673 taken by John Briggs and Stephen Vinall was exhibited to the court held a t Plymouth the 29th of October 1673 on the oathes of William Peakes and Josiah Litchfield. Th e only real estate was "a p'sell of land mensioned in a writing; which wee are incapable to p rise, by reason of our ignorance both of the quantitie and quallitie thereof."

  "was killed by falling beneath a stick of timber, when in the act of carrying it on shipboard ."
