Lillian Henwood

Lillian was born on October 19th, 1889 in Avondale, Nova Scotia.¹ Lillian's father was Jerry and her mother was Mary Alice Crowell. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen Henwood and Mary Skidmore. She had four brothers and eleven sisters, named Charles, James Thomas, George Arthur, Ernest R., Carolina Amelia, Margaret Ann, Sarah G., Harriet Mable, Mary Alice, Alwilda Mae, Alice Amanda, Susan, Emily Louisa, Florence Matilda and Gladys L.. She was the youngest of the sixteen children. She had a half-sister named Sarah O.. She died at the age of 73 on April 10th, 1963 in Wofville, Nova Scotia. She was buried in West Brooklyn Cemetary.¹¹

  Mrs. Lille Best , widow of Joseph Best, Wallbrook, King's County, died at Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital,Wolfville, following an illness of several weeks.
  Born in Avondale 80 years age, she attended school there. She was a member of the West Brooklyn Baptist Church.
  Mr. Best predeceased her some several years ago.
  Surviving are one son,John Best, Lower Gaspereau.
