Joshua was born in 1715 in West Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island, USA.1   Joshua's mother was Mary Aylesworth.  His maternal grandparents were Arthur Aylesworth and Mary Brown. He had nine brothers and four sisters, named Philip, Josiah, Amos, Benjamin, Caleb, Joseph, Jonathan, Thomas, William, Mary, Elizabeth, Ruth and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 56 in 1771 in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island, USA.1
