Indira Devi (Sajjala) was born on May 3rd, 1931.  Indira Devi (Sajjala)'s father was Bhavanarayana  Rao Sajjala and her mother was Alivelumanga Thayaramma (Naraala) Sajjala.  Her paternal grandparents were Venkataswamy Sajjala and Manikyamma (d/o Chodagam Brahmaiah, Ponnur) Sajjala. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Ramakrishna, GopalaKrishna, Kusuma Haranath, Raghunath, Paramapavana Murthy, Sugnananda Murthy, Janaki Devi, Padmini Devi (Sajjala) and Jayanthi Devi (Sajjala).  She was the third oldest of the ten children.  She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 64 on October 11th, 1995.
