Károly was born on August 26th, 1879 in Aranyos 81 and his christening took place on August 27th, 1879 in Aranyos conducted by minister Nyilas Alajos.1   His godfather was K Tóth Bálint and his godmother was Székely Juliánna. Károly's father was János Érsok (Valkó) and his mother was Zsuzsánna Székely.  His paternal grandparents were János Érsok and Borbála Valkó; his maternal grandparents were Székely and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and two sisters, named János, János, József, Klára and Eszter.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
