József was born on February 4th, 1885 in Aranyos 81 and his christening took place on February 6th, 1885 in Aranyos conducted by minister Nyilas Alajos.1   His godfather was K Tóth Bálint and his godmother was Székely Juliánna.  József's father was János Érsok (Valkó) and his mother was Zsuzsánna Székely.  His paternal grandparents were János Érsok and Borbála Valkó; his maternal grandparents were Székely and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and two sisters, named János, Károly, János, Klára and Eszter.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died due to a childhood disease at the age of 3 on September 6th, 1888 in Aranyos.1
